Tack lockers are a portable storage system designed mainly for transportation of accessories in the Equestrian industry. They are a durable system housed on a combination of swivel castors and fixed wheels to aid movement across varied terrain. A Tack locker is specifically designed to store accessories that may be required on the track or circuit reducing the time needed to go back to lorries / horse boxes or other transportation vehicles.
What is the best Tack locker for me?
We offer four main variations of Tack locker all with various optional extras available. In honesty, there is no right or wrong decision, it all depends on the amount of kit you need to transport and how often. Below are the four main designs and where we feel they are best suited but the choice is yours!

Do you offer optional extras or accessories?
Yes we do, we offer a range of shelves, saddle holders and drawers. Once the core model is chosen on the website, you have the choice of what options to add to your Tack locker, effectively making it a build your own service! It doesn’t stop there. If you want something more bespoke then feel free to contact us. We are very flexible and would love to see if we can create the right solution for you!
Can you make bespoke Tack lockers?
We absolutely can! As well as the standard Tack locker options available on the website we have the manufacturing capabilities to create a bespoke Tack locker, designed to your exacting requirements. Our specialist team are always on hand to discuss this and will take your needs into full consideration, working with you to ensure the solution we provide ticks all the boxes!
What ground are Tack Lockers suitable for?
Being designed for the Equestrian industry, we understand that easy movement across varied terrains is a must, especially when all your important kit is loaded in the Tack locker! We fit our very own solid rubber castors to the front of the Tack locker for easy door opening and a cushioned ride over rougher terrains. The back wheels are a 4ply pneumatic perfect for both flatter surfaces, rough terrains, grass & gravel. The Tackstore products are designed for use wherever you might need them!
Can I choose my Tack Locker colour?
We offer the Tack lockers in Navy / Black as standard but other options are available on request just let us know your requirements. Bespoke colours may vary in price.
Can my Tack Locker be personalised?
Personalisation is something we are often asked for and regularly do for our customers. We would normally request a high resolution image or information on what design you would like on your Tack locker. We also have the facility to show you a visual before manufacture to make sure you are happy with the design! This could be your name, a logo or company details, just let us know what you would like, and we will do the rest!
Where are Tack Lockers used?
Tack lockers are widely used within the Equestrian industry for the movement of accessories and other equestrian products. They can be used inside or outside and by using aluminium profiles this helps protect them from the elements. What can I store in a Tack locker?
The real question should be what cant you store! Anything and everything is the answer. For the equestrian industry specifically this may include Saddles, Spray bottles, Gloves, Helmets, Grooming supplies, First aid kits. Anything useful out in the field that you don’t want to be trekking miles back to get if you leave it all in the transport vehicles! Tack lockers are designed to be your caddy as and when you need them.
How can I buy a Tack locker?
We have made our website as user friendly as possible to ensure a swift process from viewing product to order placement. You can pay via debit / credit card, Paypal or Apple Pay. How long is delivery lead time?
Tacklockers are assembled to order in house but we do what we can to stock all the standard components for quick assembly. From assembly to despatch, deliveries are normally shipped between 5-7 days dependant on the quantities required. If you have questions about delivery before placing your order, get in touch.
Does my Tack Locker come with a warranty?
We provide a 6 month warranty as standard on all Tack locker parts including doors, hinges, castors and wheels. If you have any issues, then feel free to give us a call and we will do what we can to help!
Where is Tackstore based?
Tackstore is based in the west country, in Calne, Wiltshire. As a business we have been based here since the 1990’s and have grown into one of the largest producers of components and manual handling equipment. We have used our engineering experience and expertise to manufacture the Tacklocker range.
Where are the Tackstore Tack lockers made?
The Tacklockers are made right here in the UK at our headquarters in Calne, Wiltshire. All components are stocked ready for our manufacturing team to complete your solution as quickly as possible and to the highest standards. As with all our product there are a series of quality checks carried out on material before, during and after assembly. This is greatly important to us as a business.
Who buys from Tackstore?
From individual riders to competing teams, Tackstore can supply anyone needing our product and services. We have supplied teams heading to the Olympics and even a certain royal who we cannot name for legal reasons but trust us, if we were allowed to name drop we would!
What is the max. weight loading for a Tack locker?
Each Tack locker can hold up to 150kg worth of accessories and kit. We would recommend to spread your kit evenly throughout the Tack locker where possible. Ensuring the Tack locker isn’t top heavy will help you get the most out of the product.
How much do Tack lockers weigh?
The product weight of each of our designs varies dependant on what accessories are added and which size is chosen. The standard weights range between 42kg to 100kg + and each product variation on our website shows the weight with or without accessories.
How are Tack lockers despatched?
Tacklockers from Tackstore are palletised for delivery with a flat delivery cost of £80 on the website to locations within mainland UK. We use carefully selected third party carrier services for our deliveries.
Can Tackstore ship overseas?
Although not a service we offer through the website currently, Tackstore can ship overseas. If you are not located within mainland UK but are interested in our Tack lockers then please contact us and our export team will gladly arrange a transport quotation for you.
Can I collect my Tack locker order?
You certainly can. We are based in Calne, Wiltshire so if you would like to pick up your order then simply select this from the delivery menu in the basket area and we will confirm when the goods are ready.
